in the world of photoshop, bruiser refuses to abandon his roots in Windows Paint. whether his brush is a square, circle, slanted line, or dare i say “spray paint,” what results from his mouse-strokes is priceless.

activity points

i upped my physical activity level by 187 points today. the normal day includes the usual round about walking to class, climbing the stairs, and maybe biking to and from the hospital. not today. today i went rock climbing for 3 hours in kalamzoo and came back for a marathon 40 minutes of floor hockey with no subs. so yeah… they open up a fun floor hockey tournament and say “3 guys, 3 girls” which is what we put together. when we show up we’re against the only other team which had 3 girls vs. 6 guys from the ice hockey team. fun times… or something like that.

yesterday i had the worst of migranes. it made me attempt to vommit, which did nothing. laying down only made it worse so i propped myself up in a chair and tried to get some sleep. an hour and a half later, it was gone. suddenly “normal” was the best feeling in the world.

kulp will be a mighty fine place next year.

i can’t wait for senegal this summer.

checkbook

it took me almost 5 whole years to get through my first booklet of checks.

#501 (11/16/01) $350 to the Glease for a sweet guitar
#525 (2/16/06) $250 to Goshen College for an SST deposit

over half of these checks have been to Goshen College… ever singing.

oh, in regards to the previous post… it was something that happened during my day and obviously an unforgetable experience. i didn’t really know how to or want to say anything more about it, except that it’s something to be taken in stride and is expected to happen from time to time. it’s life.

‘homework’

remember when you were younger and first met someone who was homeschooled?
“so do you have to do homework?”
“yeah… everything we do is homework”

man… that answer would really annoy me.

after watching the track meet for an hour or two, paying special attention to the pole vaulting, dirk and i were inspired to have a good ol’ footrace back to the dorms from the rec-fit. dirk won because he touched the connector first.

the coolest people i know right now are the RN’s at the ER. they’re a riot.

i love pistachios.

late night grocery

mmm… i love bagels and cream cheese, so much that i decided to substitute a loaf of bread with a 2nd bag of bagels. i just got back from kroger. if you don’t already, you should try grocery shopping at late hours of the night. theres hardly anyone else and its a truly enjoyable experience.

bagels and cream cheese are an especially good “new york” snack for me, geographically. i think thats part of the reason why i like them as i live out my days in michiana. many know the new york bagel connection, refering to the many fine bakeries in NYC. however, its the cream cheese that brings it even more home to me. lowville, not NYC is where i grew up and it happens to be home to a large kraft plant where they make virtually all of the philidelphia cream cheese that you and i eat. in school on career day, kraft workers would always bring snacks and free samples of cream cheese. mmmmm.

our cows used to contribute to the philidelphia cream cheese effort, but two years ago their milk started going to, you guessed it, new york city.
